"Less than a fortnight after a Brumby Government website was voted among the top 10 sites of its kind in the world, Melbourne is hosting an international conference of the sharpest brains in electronic government. Parliamentary Secretary Assisting the Premier Evan Thornley said the 2008 International Conference on eGovernment at RMIT University would look at world’s best practice and showcase Victoria's strengths in the fast-evolving area of government... Victoria's eGovernment Resource Centre is the only Australian website to be nominated for Top Ten Who Are Changing the World of Internet and Politics awards, run by PoliticsOnline and the World eDemocracy Forum... Mr Thornley said the resource centre, at www.egov.vic.gov.au, provided access to the Brumby Government’s vast store of knowledge on a wide range of topics, from cyber security, to podcasting, to wireless connectivity.
