There will be people who won't be able to access the audio file or podcast because:
Audio files and podcasts cannot be made fully accessible, but they can be made accessible to some people with disabilities – for example people who are hearing impaired or deaf – by providing a transcript of the content in text or HTML:
Checkpoint 1.1 requires that a text equivalent is provided for every non-text element (e.g., via "alt", "longdesc", or in element content). This includes: applets and programmatic objects, sounds (played with or without user interaction), stand-alone audio files, audio tracks of video, and video.
There are numerous methods to create a podcast – this document deals with only one of them.
You will need the following hardware and applications installed to create a podcast:
Creating the podcast
Add tags to the podcast
Upload podcast to a site
If your RSS feed is not already uploaded to iTunes:
iTunes will review your podcasts before putting them on the iTunes site.
See Gian Wild’s web site for an example podcast and transcript.
