A Health 2.0-enabled BHC has the potential to integrate health promotion into people's day-to-day lives as well as helping people live better with chronic illness. With the incidence of chronic disease on the rise, over the long term Health 2.0 has the potential to help people make more informed decisions about their own health. The BHC Health 2.0 platform will be user-centric and focused on individual user- created content. A number of Web 2.0 applications for BHC are proposed to support citizens to establish and maintain healthy behaviours and lifestyles.

In its role as keeper of public records, Public Record Office Victoria plays an important role in the Gov 2.0 Action Plan, including providing records management guidance and as a participant in the project to develop a Public Sector Information Release Framework. Public Record Office Victoria regards the use of social media as an opportunity for government. It does not require a great deal of time and money. The TFE creates a spatially enabled service with a user friendly interface that is accessible from a desk top or mobile phone. It provides an estimate of a taxi fare from pick-up to drop-off point depending on the time of day. For taxi passengers, the TFE gives them confidence that the prepaid fare requested by the driver is accurate. For taxi drivers it gives income protection and safety between the hours of 10 pm – 5 am.

Vote Victoria (the App) is an initiative of Information Victoria (IV) in collaboration with the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) to create the first ever iPhone application for Victorian voters. The App uses GPS smarts to help people easily locate their closest polling location for early voting and on election day, and also to receive provisional results for the lower house to complement in-depth coverage available on TV and online.

wePlan Parks breaks new ground as the first instance where social media has been used to engage with the public in guiding the future of Victoria's parks. It was inspired by the City of Melbourne's Future of Melbourne wiki and by a desire to reach a wider audience in real time throughout the life cycle of developing a park management plan. Parks Victoria is using wePlan Parks to complement existing citizen engagement and public consultation approaches.
