It is targeted particularly at councillors who have some IT skills, and would like to know more.
This guide also briefly covers how local authorities and their partners can use social media in support of efficient service delivery.
Another publication Local by Social, has been produced by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and the IDeA to address social media for councils as organisations. It builds on the detailed work of Social by Social, produced by NESTA last year to look in depth at how public and voluntary sector organisations can use social media to achieve positive outcomes in the public realm.
