- The procurement for PSN services has begun, but the Cabinet Office still has work to do in winning hearts and minds beyond central government, by Mark Say. - New GSi network potential basis for UK-wide PSN?

"Supplier Cable&Wireless Worldwide has signed a two year framework agreement to provide the UK Government with a highly secure, dedicated pan-Government directory and portal that will act as the basis for a possible UK-wide Public Services Network.
The new GSi Convergence Framework is an exclusive, single supplier, framework agreement through which only selected secure, critical communications propositions can be purchased. UK public sector customers will be able to choose their access network provider as mandated by PSN.
The deal means the Framework will be the a primary secure-ISP for UKHMG..."
