The government service locator is a new feature on the Australian Government's portal - australia.gov.au - and is currently in trial status.
It uses an interactive map feature. Visitors to the site can search for nearby services by entering postcode, suburb or agency information. Where nearby services are found, these are highlighted on the map by icons representing a particular service.
Maps are a new service introduced by australia.gov.au. Maps provide visitors to the site with the ability to search for nearby government services and see these displayed on a map of the selected search area.
The Maps service currently provides information for Medicare and Centrelink services across Australia, as well as some points of interest. Additional services will be provided in future releases as these become available. Visitors to the site are advised where no services are available in their selected area.

The site has also expanded its have your say section with public consultations, web blogs and bright ideas.
