Archives sets digital deadline

"National Archives of Australia (NAA) Director-General, David Ficker, has inked-in 2015 as the final deadline for every government agency to deliver all electronically generated information in digital formats to the government's official record keeper.
The imposition of the deadline means that agencies will no longer be able to rely on printing out official documents to hand them over, a move that is expected to greatly improve the speed and efficiency with which information can be classified, found and – in due course – retrieved..."

Digital Continuity Plan
- National Archives of Australia. "The Digital Continuity Plan, based on six Digital Continuity Principles, will help agencies to achieve business benefits, including efficiencies and mitigation of risks. Agencies should also see the Principles on Open Public Sector Information (pdf, 650kb), which relate to aspects of digital continuity.
The Digital Continuity Plan:
- identifies the practical outcomes that arise from the Digital Continuity Principles and suggests key actions to achieve these outcomes
- assists all agencies in the ongoing management of digital information while allowing them to address agency-specific requirements and optimise benefits
- links to more detailed advice on how to carry out each action, and identifies useful tools where appropriate.

National Archives unveils digitisation strategy

NSW Govt to open source digital archives software

NARA is to manage this acquisition using, among other things, earned value management (EVM). EVM is a project management approach that, if implemented appropriately, provides objective reports of project status and unbiased estimates of anticipated costs at completion. GAO was asked to (1) assess whether NARA is adequately using EVM techniques to manage the acquisition and (2) evaluate the earned value data to determine ERA's cost and schedule performance.
