Users enter a search term that is of importance to them, search engines will display the most relevant, high-quality hits. If you’re looking to reach your target audience, white-hat SEO presents an effective and legitimate approach.

There are now many SEO companies that offer organisations and businesses support with their search engine rankings. Here is a short list of activities that you can employ in order to improve website rankings.

Always use the unique content for your website to get indexed faster and rank higher.

You have pretty much summed up everything about SEO, but if I have to add my own insights that I would say:
1. Although all of the major search engines don't give much of importance to Keywords tags, there are still some small search engines out there, which considered keyword tags to be important. Hence it would be prudent on your part to at least specify some keyword tags.
2. Latent semantic indexing (LSI) is the latest buzzword in the search engine optimisation industry. What it means is that it's important to optimise your content around related keywords. For example, if your Web page content is about a family organiser tool, then it would make sense to use other related keywords (in the content), such as mum organiser, organisation tool, productivity enhancement tool etc.
A good source to get related keywords is by using the "wonder wheel" feature of Google results page.

Thank you for contributing to the thread. You are correct on keywords tag. We also use this for our clients, as it have importance to some other search engines than Google.
Content on a webpage plays a major role in search engine optimisation. Also make sure that your meta tags match the content on the page or vice-versa. So include the keywords in content.
The idea of "Wonder Wheel" is amazing. It provides you with variety of keyword ideas which you can further use in Google's free keyword tool to check search volume.

SEO - SEO is a technique which helps search engines find and rank your site higher than the millions of other sites in response to a search query.
SEO has 2 optimization techniques.
1. On page optimization - Title tag, Meta tag, Content and keyword Optimization, Html tag optimization, Image optimization, Link optimization, Keyword research
2. Off page optimization - It is nothing but building backlinks by means of off page optimization techniques like article submission, directory submission, social bookmarking, social networking, blog posting, forum participation, press release, etc.
For a site to get ranked in search engines, you need to follow or implement both optimization techniques.
